i ve some spyware trouble and some drivers not working eg sound , thought it be easier to wipe pc clean and reinstall xp and driverswiping clean and reinstall xp is a last resort only for a pc that is completely trashed. its a long and complicated job just for a few missing drivers.and you start from zero/basic and a recycle bin.do a full av scan and download superantispyware and do a full scan.then go to program driver site and download and install the ones you need.wiping clean/reformat/reinstall is a last resort.

BEFORE you proceed make sure that:1- You have a known good and working backup of your precious files!2- Make sure that you have the proper Product Key for the Windows installation, some OEM BIOS locked install methods do not require the product key but otherwise without the proper key you will not be able to install Windows. If you have lost the product key you can extract it from your present Windows installation before you format and attempt the reinstall. As to how to proceed with this it all depends on what you have to reinstall Windows. Do you have a Windows XP retail CD or was your computer shipped with OEM restore disks? Some computers ship with a special service partition and all the required files to restore the computer to factory conditions are stored on the service partition. What kind of setup do you have?John
